Due to a change in the certification requirements, we are introducing a new 802.3at PoE+ injector which also comes with 2.5G support, making it more suitable for many future Wi-Fi 6 deployments.

The remaining in-country stock of our existing PoE injector is expected to be depleted within the next three months, however, availability will vary by region and some regions may sell out earlier.

To allow you to switch over to the new product, the SKUs have now been activated and the successors are as follows:

Further details on this change

  • Our older PoE injector conforms with the prior safety norm UL/EN/IEC 60950-1.
  • After the introduction of the new UL/EN/IEC 62368-1 safety norm, products which conform to the older norm could only be sold if they were imported into the destination country on or before December 20, 2020.
  • The new product complies with the UL/EN/IEC 62368-1 safety norm and should be used in all new opportunities.

Which PoE injector do I need?

802.3af = PoE (e.g., for APX 120 and APX 320)
The IEEE 802.3af (PoE) standard supports the delivery of Power over Ethernet up to 15.4W per port that may be used to deliver power to a variety of devices. However, only 12.95W is assured to be available at the powered device as some power is dissipated in the cable as overhead.

802.3at = PoE+ (e.g., for APX 530, 740 and 320X)
The IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard supports up to 30W of power on the ports (25.5W after dissipation), allowing devices that require more than 15.4W to power on when connected to the PoE+ ports.

Note: A PoE+ (802.3at) injector will also support PoE (802.3af), so if you’re not sure, take the PoE+ injector.
